YOUTH MINISTRY

Epiphany's Youth Ministry serves members of our parish in 6th through 12th grade. It strives to support and encourage youth as they follow in the way of Jesus by fostering radical belonging, spiritual growth, and service to others

  • Radical belonging - creating a community in which the love and acceptance of God is practiced through the giving and receiving of welcome, companionship through struggle, and mutual encouragement.

  • Spiritual growth - facilitating an atmosphere of curiosity, exploration, and learning regarding one’s relationship with God, scripture, church traditions, and the lives of the saints

  • Service to others - engaging with our surrounding contexts and communities to work toward bringing about God’s justice and hope

YOUTH GROUP

Sundays, from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at Epiphany, unless there is a special event or joint youth group with Holy Trinity Parish.

On Sunday nights during the school year, youth and adult volunteers gather from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. at Epiphany for Youth Group. During this time, we play games, get to know each other better, and explore scripture, faith, and our stories. We also break bread together, sharing a meal at least once or twice each month. On the first Sunday of the month we’ll meet at Holy Trinity Parish in Decatur for a joint meal with their youth.

This semester in youth group (fall 2023), we have a lot of special events going on. However, whenever we are at Epiphany, we will be exploring how to live by faith by discussing relevant topics: Community/Friendship, Mental Health, Social Media/Bullying, Vocations/Careers, and Racial/LGBTQ Justice. We will explore these topics using a lens of faith, scripture, and experience. See below for our fall youth group schedule!

Adult volunteers are essential for making these programs and special events feasible and meaningful. Ask us about ways that you can get involved or support these ministries to youth at Epiphany! Email eelder@epiphany.org.
